Stressful situations happens all the time. Some situations you can control and there are others that you cannot. Stress is not always bad. It motivates us to protect ourselves and to perform. Excessive stress on the other hand can be dangerous to your health and it can worsen your quality of life. You have to be able to manage your stress by learning healthy coping strategies and activities that can help you relax. Practice different techniques, until you find what works for you. When you are stressed, finding a way to relax your mind and body is most important. You can do a number of different activities. You can write in a journal. When you write about the things that bothers you and how they make you feel, it brings awareness to how much stress you feel and the causes. When you know, its very easy to find better ways to cope. Do not keep your feelings inside. It is not healthy to do so and can lead to serious health problems like high blood pressure, hair loss etc. Let your feelings out. Talk, laugh, cry and express anger when you have to. Do things that would make you relax your body and your mind. Do something that you love to do - hiking, gardening, reading a book or watching your favorite show. By taking time to do those things, will get you to relax. Try meditation. When you meditate, you are focusing on the things that are present in your life. Many things will be revealed to you as you breathe in, out and relax. Make exercising a part of your life. It is one of the best ways to manage stress. A run or a intense workout at the gym, work wonders for your mind and body. Pampering yourself is also a great way to relax. Managing your stress will improve your quality of life and boost happiness.
