When Reality hits, what do you do?

"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand."

Reality is the state of things as they actually exist as opposed to an idea or its what you see, hear or experience. Have you ever been in a situation where you get a heavy dose of reality? When things seems clearer yet hazier at the same time? When it hurts just hearing the truth that you don’t want to listen? You are in shock and your emotions are all over. It is at this point in your life that you had experience a reality check. How do you deal with it? Do you deny it? Do you run away from what had happened or try to justify it? You should not. You should acknowledge and accept that it’s your reality - see the situation for exactly what it is. It may be to your benefit or it may not. Some people claim that they like the truth but when the truth becomes painful they do not want it. Sometimes it’s easier to keep a blind eyes to things or find excuses for people’s behaviour. You will hurt even more when the blinders over your eyes are removed and you can truly see what’s in front of you. In order to survive you have to move forward. You can’t sit there and feel sorry for yourself. You have to practice forgiveness. You cannot live you life staying angry with the people who had hurt and disappointed you. This is not healthy for your personal growth and development - let it go and move forward as you evolve into the best possible version of yourself. Be optimistic about your future. Think positive thoughts. Negative thoughts would only result in negative actions. Focus on the important things in your life and channel you energy into the things that you enjoy. Through hardships and disappointments there are valuable lessons learned. It will take courage to move on but you can do it. What doesn’t break you will most definitely makes you stronger.
