Okay, this is the stuff I donât like to hear. It hasnât even been a full day since the announcement of Princeâs untimely demise and already there are rumors surrounding the circumstances of his death. My first reaction is that the media is attempting to tarnish his legacy already. But, TMZ is usually on point with their news and they have just reported that Prince was treated for a drug overdose on last Friday. I knew something was funny about his emergency landing. But, I didnât think anything about it. I figured it was just another case of “exhaustion” and the great singer would emerge with a new tour and album. But anyway, TMZ says multiple sources have told them that Prince received a “save shot” thatâs “typically administered for opiates”. For those of you who arenât hip to the drug culture, herion is an opiate.
TMZ says that the doctorâs advised Prince to stay in the hospital for 24 hours. But once Princeâs camp realized that the superstar couldnât get a private room; Â they left. This was against the doctorâs advice just three hours after he arrived. Sources say that he wasnât doing good at all when he left. I donât know what happened, but this whole thing is strange to me. Now heâs dead.
The other rumor, which has yet to be verified is; “they” killed him. Again, I donât know. But I will say that Prince is the second Black artist to die after winning a battle with a big record company for the rights to his masters. Some things we will never know. But I will keep my eyes out for the autopsy reports…
