A lot of our youth are lost, caught up in the delusion of “that life.” Well, that life ainât bout nothing. Ask the O.G.âs in your neighborhood. No real, genuine respectable individual who has been caught up in the cycle of the streets is going to tell you, “Trap youngster,” or “go ahead, pull the trigger.” Not one.
The problem is that our culture is influenced by music and entertainment. Drill this. Trap that. Donât get it twisted. I love our music. But it seems that the youth are having a difficult time distinguishing entertainment from real life. Quit listening to all these rappers talk about bang, bang, trap, trap who havenât served more than a few months in the county for Child Support. Cause I guarantee you, once you catch a case for murder, or trappin and your ass is sittin in a cell and 5 years pass you, then 10 pass you and beyond. Youâre going to be just like the rest of the trappers and killers. Youâre going to have your nose in a bible or a Qurâan; praying to Jesus, Allah, or whoever you believe in to make a way for you to just be able to hold your kids outside of a visiting room. Or to taste your motherâs home-cooked food, just one more time. Or maybe, just the right to attend her funeral. But you canât, cause youâre a gangsta, youâre a trapper. The pain of incarceration will bleed the gangsta right up out yoâ ass. Believe that.
