A lot of people have been whispering about Will Smith’s new movie since the release of the trailer. Some speculate that the NFL is nervous, maybe even angry about the upcoming release. Yesterday, there was a story released by Chris Korman on For The Win that alleges Sony altered the original script to prevent the NFL from protesting. Of course, Sony has issued a statement denying the claims.

Why? Why should they care about the NFL protesting? Wasn’t that the point in the first place, to shed a light on what professional football players go through? I figure if anything, it would be free publicity. I think the world needs to see the adverse effect too many hits has on the brain. But at the end of the day, I don’t think it will change much. A lot of athletes have been able to provide a new life for their  family through sports, so they’re going to continue with the game. There’s a risk associated with many different professions. A firefighter knows that if he runs into a burning house, he may not make it out. As we’ve been seeing more of lately, a police officer knows when he puts on his badge that he might not be home for supper. Even street cats; they know when they walk out of their house that they could end up dead or in jail before the end of the day. There’s always risks and people are going to do what they do.

Watch the trailer. What chu think?
