It’s been months since Chris Brown’s name has been mentioned in a statement with violence, but that ended over the weekend in Las Vegas.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Brown is a suspect in a misdemeanor battery that occurred early Monday morning at the Palms Casino Resort.
Below is the press release statement released by LVMPD:
At approximately 3:42 a.m. on May 4, 2015 LVMPD patrol officers responded to Sunrise Hospital to investigate a report of a subject who had been beaten. Arriving officers made contact with an adult male being treated for non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of a battery.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Violent Crimes Section indicated the victim had been playing a game of basketball at the Palms Casino Resort located at 4321 West Flamingo Road. A verbal altercation on the court led to a physical fight and the victim was punched by another male subject who was later identified as 25-year old recording artist Chris Brown. The victim prepared to defend himself and was then hit by another male reportedly with Brown.
The victim self-transported to the hospital where he was treated and released. Detectives responded to the scene at the hotel but Brown was not available to speak with them. Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark Coun ty District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. At that time, Mr. Brown would receive a summons to appear in Clark County Justice Court.
As of this release, the LVMPD has not heard from Mr. Brown or his attorney indicating whether or not he would sign the citation.
Brown was reportedly playing basketball against R&B singer Jeremih when the fight occurred.
The Grammy winner, who turns 26 on May 5th, completed his probation in March 2015 for his February 2009 assault on Rihanna. Since learning that he had a 10-month-old daughter, he had been keeping his hands clean while welcoming self-growth.
Seems like another set back!
