NBC Announces Shanice Williams Casted as the part of Dorthy on the “The Wiz”

NBC announced on The Today Show this morning that 18-year-old Shanice Williams had won the part of Dorthy on the “The Wiz”

After casting big names like Queen Latifah as the Wiz and Mary J. Blige as Evillene–and now David Alan Grier as the Cowardly Lion–the network announced that it would bring some fresh talent to the central role.

I absolutely cannot wait for this new rendition of the Wiz to come out! It is gonna be super dope! NBC is casting this version with expertise and they are making some great choices!
