Beverly Johnson, the gorgeous supermodel who came forward with her account of the Bill Cosby scandal with an article for Vanity Fair, “Bill Cosby Drugged Me. This is my Story,” bared it all, moving forward through the judgment, questions, and shame, to become one of the most vocal women of the scandal. “It was almost like a family member had betrayed me. It was such a huge sense of betrayal for me. These women gave me the courage to come forward,” Beverly recalls.
Judgment. Finger pointing. Gossip. Whispers. Accusations. I’m guilty of it myself as I experience mixed feelings on the entire situation. Why did they wait so long to come forward? What do they have to gain? What’s the motive? They’re just trying to ruin his career. But damn, all of these women can’t be lying. Why are we tearing down our own icon, when we don’t have many positive black figures to represent black culture? But Bill Cosby has been very critical of black entertainers. Don’t cast stones when you live in a glass house. These are just some of the conflicting thoughts that ran through my mind as the allegations surfaced.
However, today on Good Morning America, Beverly wasn’t all about blame or judgment. When asked what she would say to Bill Cosby, she replied quickly, “I forgive you.”
What do y’all think; is she sincere? I still don’t know how I feel about all this…
