Say your 5 year old baby girl came to you out of the blue one day and said, “I should’ve been a boy!” What would be your response? Parents Jean and Stephen had to face that question from their 5 year old biologically born girl Kathryn. She also confessed that she knew she was supposed to be a boy since she was 2. For years Kathryn’s mama sat back and watched her wear the pants, play with the green soldiers and other boy activities however this was a different level of ‘tomboyness’ that she could not shake. When she told her husband about her concerns he reacted like any parent probably would with a loud ‘you trippin’. Finally one day they were in their car and Kathryn told him that she was going to tell him a story of a kid who was born in the wrong body. That of course caught his attention and damn near caused an accident.
Now what would you do?
They started to ‘accept’ their child’s revelation of being in the wrong body; they came to terms that their daughter Kathryn was now their son Tyler. Once school started they wrote letters to every parent explaining Tyler’s ‘situation’, on the application for school they put down male instead of female and even at swimming parks Tyler will rock swim trunks instead of bathing suits.
Ok I’m about to become all statistical on that ass for a minute so hold on. One of the criteria to figuring out if your child has gender disorder is that boys will think their penis is disgusting and may attempt to castrate themselves in the process. In little girls they may pee in the stand up position simulating a penis. This way of thinking can potentially damage the child’s social, occupational or other every day functions and in that case they will be diagnosed with this disorder. Alright, alright, alright now it’s time for you to get a harsh spoonful of my opinion.
I read the many opinions about this subject which led me to toss out my original post and write this one. How in the HELL does a 2 year old know about sex (meaning in the gender sense)?! They don’t even know the difference between a girl and a boy let alone know that they were born in the wrong body. This child was influenced by something. The parents gave up their parental rights once they said, ‘Ok baby, whatever you say. You know you are in the wrong body we agree with you.’ There will be no changing of birth certificates, social security status or writing letters to parents explaining my child is the opposite of what God made them to be. Stick to the pants and G.I. Joes and we will worry about this when you’re at least a teenager!
Speaking of God many want to remix the Bible to fit their beliefs or justify certain things. The Bible is self explanatory and although I don’t agree with some of what God expect I will not change His words to make me sleep better at night. God did not intend for women to love women or men to love/marry men. I don’t care what scripture you pull out and twist, that is not what He planned for his people. This includes the transgender people too. However me personally feel that if you are gay/lesbian you should NOT be treated differently nor do I believe you should go to Hell especially if I’m not sure if I’m going to Heaven. On top of that He did not make any mistakes so when I hear someone say they were born in the wrong body I take that as their way of sticking their middle finger to Him and saying He f****d up.
One last point I want to make, comments were made that this has been going on for years; just because something has been around forever doesn’t make it right nor does it make it wrong it just makes it present for a long ass time. Stop proclaiming that a 2 year old is capable or knows that they are not ‘normal’ and were born in the wrong body. A 2 year old is no where near mentally capable of making that decision! Blacks have been discriminated against from jump but that doesn’t mean you have the right to be racist right along with the other ignorant idiots.
It is said that over 80% of children who suffers from gender disorder will accept what they were biologically born as once becoming adults. With that high percentage would you support your 2 year old child if they confess vehemently to you that they were supposed to be the opposite sex? What would you have done? I’m dying to read your comments.
Peace and luv!

Who says this brotha don’t look out for people. I watched a little of Whitney Houston’s funeral and one of the people that I watched give a speech was Tyler Perry. What he said literally gave me goosebumps and tears. I loved it! And I can tell it was genuine.
Whitney’s only child Bobbi Kristina has become the daughter everyone has been sheltering since the passing of her mother. I mean she was extremely close with her mama and to have that strong foundation taken away was devastating. To help Bobbi Kristina stay focused on her goals Tyler Perry has taken this girl under his wings. He has given her a recurring role in his television series called For Better or For Worse which has just picked up 35 more shows. The last two weeks she has been seen coming and going from Tyler’s production studio. She will be playing a hairdresser’s daughter. That is all about her character for right now but I love the fact that Tyler stepped up when he really didn’t have to. With all of the flack he gets for making the movies that seems to bash our culture can you really hate him for giving this young sistah an opportunity?
I love gossip as much as the next person and I love hearing people get into some kooky stuff but I don’t wish a person, especially with such talent, spiral out of control. Look at where she came from, both of her parents suffered from addiction, she had to watch her parents spiral all out of control in front of the public. I wish this young sistah the best and thank you Tyler for giving her an opportunity to shine.
Peace and luv!

Americans are still reeling over the murder of Trayvon Martin including me but at least one family can have some kind of closure after their family member was brutally murdered because he was black. Forty-seven year old James Craig Anderson of Mississippi was brutally beaten by a group of white teen boys who was drunk and thought it would be entertaining to beat up on a black man. They drive to a town where the majority of the population is black. That is when the teens came across James Craig Anderson right outside of his hotel room. They attacked him in the parking lot in the middle of the night. After beating him down the teens climb into their trucks; however one of the teens was not finished.
Throughout this ordeal none of the teens were smart enough to realize there might be security cameras around the hotel. The video, though murky, shows the victim limping alongside the street obviously trying to get help when the ringleader takes his pick up truck and run right over Mr. Anderson.
My stomach nearly flipped while I watched in shock. Who even put that much hate in these kids’ hearts and minds?! Slavery ended so long ago so how in the world people let generation after generation marinate in these mentally unstable behaviors and beliefs? The world is not perfect and nor do I expect it to be great overnight but I would have thought we would be in a better place with racism. Guess that is too much to ask for.
Deryl Dedmon plead guilty for Mr. Anderson’s murder. He will serve two life sentences. Before getting escorted out of the courtroom Deryl turned around and said how sorry he was and that he would like the family to “….soften your hearts to forgive me.”
First off you are sorry; a sorry sack of shit! You’re only apologizing because you were caught finally not because of running over this innocent black man like it was a sport! This was not the first time these teens harassed blacks before. I guess they decided to take it up a notch because before they only messed with drunk or homeless blacks figuring no one would remember or care that a ‘worthless’ black man got beat. What were their punishment before? Or did they (judicial system) turn their heads? This pimply faced, lanky white teenage boy had the audacity to say this Oscar worthy speech:
“I was young. I was dumb. I was ignorant….I was not raised the way that I acted that night. I was raised in a godly house. As I stand before you today, I am a changed man. I am a godly man. God has showed me to see no colors. God showed me that we are all made in the image of God so we are all based on the same thing…I do not ask y’all to forget but I do ask y’all to forgive.”
No disrespect to you God, plug your ears if you have to for a sec. Why is it people find Jesus in prison? Is that His hangout? I don’t believe him. His behavior had to have been conditioned, watered, molded from somewhere in his daily life. I don’t believe a person who may have been raised by ‘Godly’ people can wake up one morning and suddenly have these sudden urges to beat and kill a ‘nigger’. That kind of hate was simmering in him and that night was the breaking point. It’s a sickness. And just because your parents were ‘godly’ doesn’t mean they were loving and truthful. Even the devil knows the 10 commandments!
The judge assigned to this case responded afterword with this:
“Your prejudice has brought shame upon you and placed a great stain on the state of Mississippi. Whatever excuse you may offer for what you have done forget that. There’s no excuse that you can offer for the family of Mr. Anderson or to your fellow Mississippians who have to try to reconcile the horrible damage you have caused.”
The family of the victim does not believe in the death penalty. Let me say this if EVER anyone brutally harm or murder my kids, they better run faster than a bullet! And if they are caught and arrested I will fight for them to be put to death! However being that I am on the outside looking in I can understand the family not believing in the the death penalty. There are people who don’t mind playing God, I on the other hand don’t want that responsibility on my shoulder because I know I would have to answer to it someday. That is why I couldn’t be a judge, or even a cop – that’s too much power that should not be given to one person. So I respect the family for looking beyond their anger and sadness for this racist teen. Seven teens were in this murder case. One named Aaron Rice (no relation) was charged with simple assault because apparently he left the scene before Mr. Anderson was ran over. This family has a long road ahead of them in recovering mentally I just pray everything works out ok so they can get closure and start to heal.
Peace and luv!

This ‘reality’ show thing is getting to be too much! Here’s proof. Supposedly there is a reality show being taped right now and it will be called Mistresses of Atlanta. In my head I automatically thought it would be about women who are messing with or have messed with another woman’s husband but that is not the case. The show will be geared around a few ‘models’, a female rapper as well as some girls who apparently dated Drake and Sean Kingston knowing full well these artists were dating someone else.
Whose idea was this? They are really reaching for anything aren’t they?! I mean really? Ladies, especially my sistahs, why must you put yourself out there like this? Do you wanna be a celebrity (and I use that word loosely) that bad? I’m 32 years old and I am constantly fighting to not be the stereotypes that they have put on black women since slavery days (freaks, hoes, Jezebels, unintelligent, ghetto, gold diggers, ugly, a waste of time, etc. I literally can go on). So why ladies do you feel it is ok to follow suite to ‘their‘ stereotypes? I’m at a lost for words….ok no I’m not cause I’m writing this but still it’s disheartening. A few of the ladies have already tweeted that there was a fight on the first day of shooting! And you think this is hot? STOP IT!
Let me say this sistahs. There is no way you are going to be respected by a good man acting out of pocket in public and/or behind closed doors. Somebody has to say it. It is not cute when you’re fighting (physically) in your 20s, 30s, and especially 40s, yes that means you too Chrissy from Love and Hip Hop. I don’t give a damn how disrespectful these young minded girls talk slick to you. STOP IT!
It is not cute to be sloppy ass drunk every night. Go home, take care of your kids! It’s ok to go out every once in awhile don’t make it a habit. STOP IT!
Sleeping around with hip hop artists to get a lifetime meal ticket is messy thinking. That is 9 levels of hot messness (no it’s not a real word but sometimes you have to make up your own words when messy situations like this occur. And if Diddy can do it so can I). Get your own mami. Being thirsty is NEVER a cute look. The way relationships come and go like revolving doors why would you psych yourself into thinking your cookies is good enough to maintain a faithful long term relationship with these ballers? STOP IT!
My whole point ladies is think. Realize your worth. Understand what a woman is. Stop thinking in an ‘at the moment’ mentality and selling your soul for that almighty dollar because the repercussions will damage you possibly for life. Not to sound cheesy but black women are the backbone for our communities. I don’t care if people think that men rule the world. Black women are the best hustlas out of all races. We’ve managed to take our people out of slavery and into better conditions, raised everybody’s children including our own, we’ve fought sexism and still is fighting, we have broken many glass ceilings and become powerful forces to be reckoned with. Other races and young black girls coming up please do not look at these black hoodrats as role models, something to aspire to be. If you can leave with only one thing out of this my beautiful creations is that REAL BLACK GIRLS ROCK!
Peace and luv!

That is a stupid question I know however I seriously think that a lot, not just some, have gotten too comfortable to the point where they don’t see it anymore. Recently there have been several blatant situations that have disturbed me. From slave questions being given to students on tests, to teachers using slavery as examples for kids to work out on the chalkboard in front of the class that had nothing to do with what they were studying to this sad, sad story.
Three white Chicago teens have been arrested for luring a black classmate to a home and putting a noose around his neck with the intention to kill him. All of this was because they did not want this black boy to date a white girl which happened to be one of the attacker’s cousin. This incident happened two days before Christmas however the victim’s parents did not call in the attack until Christmas Eve. During the whole encounter the boys called him the ‘n’ word repeatedly and threatened him with a knife. All of them attended or did attend Brother Rice high school.
The school’s administration is dumbfounded by what has happened and says,
“It’s disturbing just by the very nature of the alleged crime. It’s not what Brother Rice is about, it’s not what we stand for, and it’s not what we represent.”
Somebody has to say this but obviously these teenagers learned this hateful behavior at home – period! I wanna know where the parents were while this was going down? And if they were around would they have participated in the hate crime or at least condoned it? Can you imagine your child coming to you with this? I know I would be murderous mad! All of this went down in Chi town. Last time I checked wasn’t Chicago mostly black occupied? So these boys should be used to seeing interracial dating. This is just disgusting and disappointing.
One of the attackers, eighteen year old Matthew Herrmann, will be charged as an adult. That victim will be scared for a long time. How do you bounce back from something like that? I wonder how the girlfriend feels.
Peace and luv!
