Update: A 6 Year Old Girl Was Not Attacked, No One Was Injured

UPDATE
According to the Marion Police Department’s Facebook Page, the incident that happened yesterday involved two adults and they were both arrested on drug related charges.

This is a comment that was left on my post just minutes ago. It’s all good. Because if it weren’t for me “starting the rumor” the police department would not have came forward with the accurate information. It is not my intention to start rumors and stir up drama. I don’t get into that. I saw this story developing on my facebook feed through the Inform Marion page. And I have reported on this story as it unfolded right on my timeline. That’s how you report developing stories. Did you read what I wrote, the words I used, how I promised to keep everyone updated and that I would report more as I learned more? It’s all good. The next time something happens I will report it as It unfolds as well. I don’t care who don’t like it. I will inform my community. Thanks to all who answered my questions and helped out. Again, my “rumor mill” brung a light to this situation very quickly.

LAST NIGHT’S POST

As I scrolled through my newsfeed on Facebook, I learned that a 6 year old little girl was attacked at 6th street park. Apparently, she was injected with an unknown substance by a needle. I can’t believe it. What is this town coming to? The details are a little foggy at the moment. But, I understand that they arrested two people and supposedly a third person ran and was captured at 1635 W. Nelson. I will try to keep you updated as I learn more…

“Shoot, they need to get his ass injecting lil girls. You know I don’t wish jail on no one. But, this one, they need to get his ass.”

Thanks to everyone who has been following this story. One of the pitfalls of reporting news “as it happens” is that details are sometimes foggy and unclear. Now, there are reports that the girl was a teenager and she was arrested. Again, I will continue to dig for information and I will keep you updated the best I can. Thank you.
