“When I found her she was a regular girl. I helped place her with the right people, get her teeth cleaned, her body toned up. Everything changed and now everyone wants a piece of her.”
Who in the hell left the gate open?! If your man said this about you what would you do? I’d slap the shit out of him but that’s just me. Tyson Beckford said this in regards to his current girl. Even though Beyonce had the world wanting to upgrade their partner I honestly don’t think she meant disrespecting the one you are with just to make yourself look good. I mean really Tyson? Is that how you feel? Who are you baby boy? When was the last time you modeled? What have you even done lately? How are you even relevant anymore? If you thought admitting this about your girl like you were her savior a great idea then you are stupid and obviously she was fine with it because she just smiles and stand by her man like a dim-witted lamp post.
A woman should never be this disrespected by her man. If I were her I’d look at it like, “Damn so I was a charity case is that what you are saying? A project you felt compelled to conquer and floss around?” He has minimized her worth in that one confession. He has crossed a serious line. Is it right to publicly announce or brag about the things you’ve done to upgrade your partner? That person’s improvements should speak for itself when they step into a room. To me it’s a blatant sign of ownership if you think about it. If this chick in any way gets a big head or wants to bounce he will hold all of this over her head and she being ‘in love’ will cower before him and stay. Drastic? Don’t think so, I just call it how I see it.
Remember awhile back when Gabrielle Union admitted that Dwayne Wade tells her that her tracks are showing before they go out? Would this be considered disrespectful too? I think I could handle that one; that’s like someone telling you a booger is in your nose or there is food in between your teeth. That’s looking out for a person and preventing them from being embarrassed. Tyson, you need to go buy a clue and apologize to your girl for putting her ‘fixer uppers’ on blast. She on the other hand needs to say tootles to the fake Tyrese look alike and upgrade to a better man!
Peace and luv!

When I send my kids to school I do not expect them to be bullied or disrespected, especially from their own teachers! Fourteen year old Jordan Schumate experienced ignorance to the nth degree from his teacher. His class was studying a Langston Hughes poem called Ballad of the Landlord one day when his teacher told him to read it for the class. No big deal right?
When Jordan Schumate started to read the literary work his teacher became annoyed and yelled out, “Blacker Jordan c’mon blacker! I thought you were black!” Refusing to read anymore Ms. Marilyn Bart, the ninth grader’s teacher, made him stand next to her as she did her own rendition of how a black person is supposed to sound. Afterword Jordan asked her if she thought all black people speak in that way, she told him to go sit down.
Apparently this was not the first time this George C. Marshall High School teacher has let ignorant remarks leave her lips. She has asked him ‘why do blacks like grape soda and rap?’ On another occasion she wanted him to rap a Tupac song.
First of all I never heard of blacks just liking grape soda – grape kool-aid or jungle juice yes, soda no. Second the more I read about this story the more it sounds like a white woman obsessed with blackness. She is that ‘wigger’ that is curious about the ‘black’ life, what she ass*umes we do in our daily life, eat, sleep, communicate amongst each other, etc. Not excusing what this teacher did but I think in her head she did not feel she was doing anything wrong, she was just curious. But how would she have liked it if Jordan or any other black person asked her why do white people smell like wet dogs when they come from out of the rain? Or why are blondes so dumb or why can’t white men jump? Even though we may ask out of curiosity it comes off as being racist and insensitive! As an adult Ms. Bart should’ve known better. How does a black person sound anyway? How did she know how Langston Hughes would sound reading his own poem? Did she ask EVERY black person in existence to come to the conclusion that we all like grape pop? Since I know for a fact she didn’t because that is impossible she should have not made this 14 year old the spokesperson for black people. She probably thought because there were no other blacks in that class her idiocy wouldn’t leave the room. Thank god him and his mother have a great enough relationship with each other, that’s why it’s imperative that we as parents communicate with our kids, let them know you are on their side and don’t get off the chain when a situation arises because it only takes one time for that bridge to burn to the point where they will not come to you in the future trust me. When I was younger I can’t remember what it was but I remember her reaction and I knew not to go to her again. So please create that bond.
Anyway he told his mother. Her response to the ordeal was, “We’re in 2012 with the first African American president. In this era how could such a statement be made particularly by an English teacher?” I agree with this lady, I empathize as a mother because we are mothers and I wish the world was that way however I’m a realist and even though nobody can say they are pure blood anything still ignorant asses want to be hateful and continue on with learned behavior as though it’s a family tradition. Just because we have a black President did not mean racism would automatically dissipate. Situations such as this one and Troy Davis and the most recent Trayvon Martin should wake us up to our real reality. It’s getting ugly out here. The hate has never left it has just shifted and now it’s just more discreet…well until recently. Since no one is really getting punished for their racist behavior (unless you count a slap on the wrist punishment) some feel that gives them the right to do, say and act any kind of way. I hope this teacher is severely punished, stripped of her teaching license, tar and feathered, stoned and any other brutal punishment fit for an idiot of the week, then after all of that she needs sensitivity classes…yeah I think that should be good.
What is your honest opinion about this story as well as everything else, the abundance of racist remarks and actions? Do you have some solutions because a lot of people on these social networks are very opinionated about these stories but no one has any idea on what should be our next move. This clearly is showing us we need to stop killing each other and get with it. We’re not going to conquer it in one night but damnit aren’t you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
Peace and luv!
